The kingdom was commanded from the king, where-ever he may be, and kings were known to travel considerably. The parts of a kingdom? It all depends on how it was to be devided up. My guess; That's about it. Erik It seemed logical to devide a kingdom up like that if comparing it to a cell. ErikMccannon04 for biology class i am comparing a cell to a kingdom and i need some help finding the parts of castles and the rest of the kingdom. Mostly the rest of the kindgom because i found from other forum threads the parts of the castle. What part would you say would be the center of the castle? where everything is commanded from? thanks Erik Schmidt An interesting analogy!
When at home in his castle the king may well have spent much of his time in the great hall, particularly when attending to business, so this would then be the centre of command. The great hall was situated in the keep in some castles, but more commonly it was located in, or adjoining, the domestic buildings.
-agriculture/food production, which could be further devided into types such as livestock, fishing, hunting, grain vegetables, etc.
-forestry/timber production
-manufacturing(eg furniture, jewelery etc.)
-mining(eg gold, iron)
-military(levies or mercenaries)Could also be devided up into offence or defence.
-trade(cross border or internal)
-administration, carried out by the lords/landowners on behalf of the king.
-domestic(many other parts relying on this. Includes child rearing)Marko Well Erik,
It looks like your describing some RTS pc game like Settlers ;-)Erik Schmidt Yeah Marko, almost does. I guess that's just the way those games are set up. I don't play games much, only 'Age of Empires' sometimes, they take too much time.
